Always there, inside. deep in the shadows of my soul.
In my mind I look into a dark well, knowing that he is down there.
Ready to rise at any moment, waiting for a gap in my weakness, just a hole.
Every happiness, every piece of joy has a foundation of darkness not willing to share.
It's a constant fight, a battle of a lifetime, that will never end.
I have to go to war each day, and wear my armor.
Even when the day's battle is won, Darkness the morning will send.
To rage in my body's shell once more.
I could give in and let the darkness overwhelm
But what of my wife, children, and others
To end it now would start with another at the helm
Something I can not pass on and allow to smother
Mild man on the outside, raging in chaos from within
He longs for time to rest his head and only feel the glory
A glory from his ever-loving wife without sin
Something he searches for in his life story.
