Welcome to Poetry for Crows
I’ve always lived in the space between things that are built to last and things that are fleeting.
By day, I work as a structural engineering draughtsman. It’s a world of blueprints, calculations, and precision. But when 9:00 PM hits and the house quietens down, I trade the blueprints for a glass of whiskey and a blank page. That’s where Poetry for Crows comes alive.
To me, the crow represents the gritty, observant side of life—watching, remembering, and finding meaning in the mundane. My verse doesn't shy away from the messy realities of the world, whether I'm writing about growing up in Essex in the 80s and 90s, the resilience it takes to weather life's storms, or just a quiet, rainy evening. If the crow represents the grit, my wife, Samantha, is the "Dove" who brings the light and peace to my work.
My path here hasn't been a straight line. I’ve worked in catering, photography, social care, and I’m a registered foster carer. Every single one of those chapters taught me something about human nature.
When the pen is down, I’m a father to three, a Sunday footballer, a low-carb whole-foods cook, and a massive fan of music and collecting vinyl.
Thanks for stopping by the roost. Grab a glass, pull up a chair, and dive into the rhythm and rhyme.
